OnRobot Hosts Dallas Event to Showcase Automation Solutions for Manufacturers Facing Labor Shortages

OnRobot is hosting a “Build your Automation Roadmap” event in Dallas on February 19, aimed at providing practical automation solutions to North Texas manufacturers struggling with labor shortages. The event will feature live demonstrations of FANUC robot arms equipped with OnRobot’s end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for various manufacturing applications.

Labor Challenges Driving Automation Needs

According to Kristian Hulgard, OnRobot’s general manager for the Americas, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is experiencing significant strain in the labor market while maintaining strong order books. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Texas Business Outlook Survey confirms that manufacturers across North Texas face persistent hiring challenges, including a lack of qualified applicants with technical skills, increased competition for labor, and rising wage pressures.

Event Highlights and Demonstrations

At the upcoming event, attendees will witness practical demonstrations of robotic applications including:

  • Machine tending
  • Material handling
  • Assembly
  • Packaging
  • Quality inspection

Automation experts will be present to share real-world experience and help manufacturers progress from curiosity to confident implementation of robotics solutions.

Featured Speakers

The event will include presentations from several industry experts:

  • Kristian Hulgard (OnRobot) – Discussing macrotrends affecting U.S. automation growth
  • Brent Lindell (FANUC America) – Providing live demonstrations of FANUC robots
  • Ruben Lanz (Adaptive Vision and Robotics) – Explaining component sourcing strategies
  • Derrell Guillory (AWC) – Addressing system integration considerations

About OnRobot

Founded in 2018 through the merger of three end-of-arm tooling companies (Perception Robotics, OptoForce, and OnRobot), the Denmark-based company later acquired Purple Robotics (2018) and Blue Workforce (2019). OnRobot provides hardware and software for collaborative applications, offering grippers that help manufacturers optimize various processes including palletizing, pick and place, sanding, and screwdriving.

Event Details

The “Build your Automation Roadmap” event is free to attend and includes lunch, though space is limited. It represents an opportunity for North Texas manufacturers to explore practical automation solutions that could help address their ongoing labor challenges while maintaining production capabilities.
