Orbbec Unveils Gemini 305 and 345Lg 3D Cameras for Advanced Robotics at CES 2026

Orbbec has announced two new 3D cameras at CES 2026—the Gemini 305 for robotic wrist mounting and the Gemini 345Lg for outdoor robotics—along with NVIDIA Jetson Thor compatibility and expanded manufacturing capabilities.

Gemini 305: Compact 3D Vision for Robotic Arms

The Gemini 305 is a compact stereo 3D camera specifically designed for robotic wrist mounting. At just 42 × 42 × 23mm and weighing only 65g, this camera brings several notable advantages to robotic applications:

  • Ultra-close depth imaging starting from 4cm (1.5 inches)—43% closer than competing products
  • Wide field of view (88° × 65° for depth, 94° × 68° for color)
  • Sub-millimeter depth accuracy across its 4-100cm range
  • Independent configuration of color and depth resolutions
  • One-click switching between “Depth + Color” and “Dual RGB” modes
  • Real-time output at up to 1280×800 resolution and 60 fps
  • Low latency (as little as 60ms)

The Gemini 305g variant features GMSL2 serializer and FAKRA connector for more stable data transmission in high-vibration environments.

Gemini 345Lg: Rugged Vision for Outdoor Robotics

The Gemini 345Lg is built for harsh outdoor conditions with impressive specifications:

  • IP67-rated protection against dust and water
  • Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 65°C (-4°F to 149°F)
  • Reliable performance in extreme weather conditions and vibration
  • Effective in both darkness and intense sunlight (exceeding 100 klux)
  • Dual-mode depth FOV up to 104° × 87°/91° × 78°
  • RGB FOV of 137° × 71° and IR FOV of 130° × 95°

These features make it ideal for commercial lawn mowers, inspection robots, outdoor logistics vehicles, and other demanding applications.

NVIDIA Jetson Thor Compatibility

Orbbec announced that its Gemini series cameras are now fully compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Thor system-on-module. This integration creates an end-to-end visual computing pipeline from perception through decision-making, reducing integration complexity and development cycles for robotics manufacturers.

Additionally, the Gemini 335Lg has completed adaptation with NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB), enabling stable, high-bandwidth, low-latency transmission of stereo 3D vision data.

Dual Manufacturing Capabilities

To ensure supply chain resilience, Orbbec is establishing manufacturing facilities in both Shunde, China, and Vietnam:

  • The Shunde facility integrates R&D and production with capacity for 10 million sensors and 1 million robot terminals
  • The Vietnam facility will begin operations in May 2026, offering OEM services, material sourcing, and design for manufacturing analysis

This dual-location strategy aims to provide reliable capacity assurance for robotics enterprises worldwide.

Conclusion

Orbbec’s new Gemini cameras address specific challenges in robotics vision, with the 305 series tackling close-range perception for robotic arms and humanoid robots, while the 345Lg provides reliable vision in harsh outdoor environments. With NVIDIA Jetson Thor compatibility and expanded manufacturing capabilities, Orbbec is positioning itself as a key provider of 3D vision solutions for the next generation of robotics applications.
