RealMan Intelligent Technology Co. has expanded its robotics offerings with three new joint modules designed to provide a unified power system across various robot applications, from lightweight desktop arms to industrial systems.
The New Joint Module Lineup
The Beijing-based company, founded in 2018, has introduced three innovative High-Power-Density (HPD) servo joints that deliver high torque density, dynamic response, precision, reliability, and cost efficiency:
- WHJ03: An ultra-compact precision control module measuring just 33 x 48 mm, delivering 3 Nm of torque. It offers 35-55% higher torque in the same volume while reducing size by over 50% compared to alternatives. Ideal for desktop robots and consumer humanoids where space is limited.
- WHJ120: A high-torque hollow-core design providing 120 Nm rated torque with a 16 mm hollow core. Suitable for force-limited robots requiring high torque and flexible cable routing. Typically used in shoulder, elbow, and waist joints in collaborative robots, as well as shoulder, hip, and knee joints in humanoids.
- WHJ48V Wide-Voltage Series: Supporting input voltages up to 60V while remaining compatible with 24V systems. Delivers higher peak speeds, greater power density, and improved energy efficiency with reduced current, heat generation, and cable losses. Designed for high-end humanoids, mobile robots, collaborative robots, and exoskeletons.
Key Benefits and Applications
All three modules feature compact, integrated, and modular designs that can be applied across consumer, commercial, and industrial robotics applications. The standardized approach allows RealMan to deliver a unified power system for various robot types and sizes.
The WHJ03’s minimal backlash and low jitter make it suitable for delicate tasks like liquid handling and fragile object manipulation. The WHJ120’s hollow-core structure reduces mechanical complexity while supporting heavy-duty operations. The WHJ48V Series meets stringent requirements for dynamic response, endurance, and lightweight design.
Recent Developments
This announcement follows RealMan’s recent open-source release of RealSource, a high-quality multi-modal robot dataset designed to address the industry’s shortage of fully aligned real-world data. The dataset was built within the company’s Beijing Humanoid Robot Data Training Center, which opened in August.
In October, the company also debuted its RealBot Embodied Open Platform for teleoperation, real-time collaboration, and humanoid development at IROS (IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems).
Conclusion
RealMan’s new joint modules represent significant advancements in modular robotics technology, enabling more versatile and efficient robot designs across multiple applications. The company continues to expand its offerings in the robotics space, addressing both hardware and data challenges facing the industry.
